As far as I know, and with other people's previous reports about the 
DRU500AX and this board, dvdrecord unfortunetely does not yet work with 
this drive.

Are you typing `make` within the dvd+rwtools directory, as par 
instructions? This will build you a growisofs binary that you can then 
use. It looks as if you're trying to compile growisofs only by itself.
