emacs -q

dired with option `ls -1'

wdired-change-to-wdired-mode
reports error:

wdired-preprocess-symlinks: Search failed: " -> \\(.*\\)$"

Mode-line displays "(Editable Dired...)"
but when I start editing, it's refused saying:

call-interactively: Text is read-only

Thanks all

I don't see a need to keep open this particular report, which was marked
"wontfix" some time ago.
