= runs the command dired-diff, which is an interactive compiled Lisp
function in `dired-aux.el'.

Lately it is quoting any file located off the home directory, thus
breaking it.

diff -U0 \~/namecard/namecard wapper
diff: ~/namecard/namecard: No such file or directory

The workaround is to copy the file out of the home directory to
somewhere else, then diff there.

Sorry if a duplicate report: too hard to find the bug in
debbugs.gnu.org.
