One day i needed to change my password
It appeared to go fine
When i logged in all goes fine

then some days later i wanted to install software and of course it asked for authentication
I entered my password but it politely tells me its incorrect
i tried my old password with no better success

why cannot we have a separate root password......

Anyway how to get out of this situation pl?

Thanks for your report. However, you have reached the coreutils mailing
list, which has nothing to do with your system password maintenance.
You will not find any good answers here. Try your distro support
mechanisms, or the distributor of the software you are trying to
authenticate. I'm closing this report as it is not a bug in coreutils.
