OK. I tried my code under Emacs 20.x and 21.

I want to apply an overlay to a buffer so that it is visible while my code is
executing. Basically this is just stack navigation so I want to show the user
the current stack and highlight the line that the user is viewing.

The only problem is that my overlay code works but nothing is updated until
execution stops.

I have tried using sit-for but this doesn't help.

I have been thinking about this for the last two weeks to make sure I haven't
been doing anything stupid but nothing seems to come to mind....

any hints?

Kevin
