AFAIK, there never was Emacs 5.7, at least not GNU Emacs.
You are correct. At first I numbered the versions 1.N, but when N got
to 13 I dropped the 1. So there was a version 1.5 but never a version
5. I think version 13 was the first one that was distributed very
much.
