Christmas release

  What do people think of a Christmas release to get the current new
  features and bug fixes out to the masses?

  I was thinking of shooting for a code-freeze of the end of the month
  (or sooner if Peter is finished scratching his itches ;-), making a
  beta package, and letting us beat on it for a couple of weeks before
  announcing the release and patching the changes back into Emacs.

  How about calling this 5.1, and saving 6.0 for the bitching MIME
  release ;-).

  Sound OK?
