Wrappers

I am very unhappy that people charged ahead to design wrappers before
we checked whether they are actually necessary.  This is an instance
of letting a neat programming feature distracting attention from
what we are actually working on.

Also, I was compelled to spend time reading the messages, thinking
about the issue, and sometimes writing messages.  I have been unable
to keep up with all my email lately.  Please don't make
possibly-unnecessary work for me.

Please, please, please let's not get carried away proposing extensions
to the Emacs programming environment.  All else being equal I want
to make FEWER extensions, not more.
