The reason for this bug is tha s in Dired does not sort the buffer
directly--instead, it regenerates the Dired listing with different ls
switches.
Writing code to sort the Dired buffer by time or by name internally,
handling subdirectories properly, is not trivial, but it should not be
terribly hard either. Does someone want to try?
