    Well, I think the idea is to eventually make pcomplete *the* Emacs
    completion facility.

I have yet to be convinced this is an acceptable change.  It might be,
but people will have to show me.

What I can say now is that, if this is a good idea, it is not as
important as a number of the items in the TODO list.  I think it is
misdirected effort to work on this while those other improvements that
are really needed are left for later.
