Yes, the typical reaction on the new "sticky" header line is: very nice!

I just added a new function `format-mode-line' to CVS emacs which
returns the current mode-line or header-line of the selected (or a
specified) window as a string [without properties].

So now you can copy them from lisp; next step is to make bindings to
do this.  [any volounteers?]
