How about this?
*** The new package table.el implements editable, WYSIWYG and embedded
`text tables' in emacs buffers. It implements a quasi mode by way of
text property. Unlike major and minor mode, that is effective
throughout a buffer, this quasi mode exists within a limited area in a
buffer so that the effect is localized. The package emulates WYSIWYG
table editing available in modern word processors. The package also
can generate a table source in typesetting and markup languages such
as latex and html from the visually laid out text table.
