FYI: this change breaks the DJGPP (aka MS-DOS) build.  I don't know when 
I will have time to work on fixing it, but I've added it to my todo.

The same goes for the equivalent change in lib-src/Makefile.in; the 
change in the top-level Makefile.in does not affect the DOS port.
