Apparently XSync referenced bad data. There is no easy way to figure out
what that bad data was, but I have a guess of a possibility.

Can you figure out what argument was passed to XSync
and determine whether it was a legitimate value?

This bug report will be sent to the Free Software Foundation,
not to your local site managers!
Please write in English if possible, because the Emacs maintainers
usually do not have translators to read other languages for them.

Your bug report will be posted to the address@hidden mailing list.

Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug:

In a long-running (a few days, at least) multi-frame emacs, I opened a
text file via emacsclient, and proceeded to isearch through the
document. Emacs coredumped, I *believe* while I was switching virtual
desktops (ctwm), but it could have been a delayed reaction to an isearch
attempt (I was switching to find out what has suddenly slowed the
computer).

I include here the first page of gdb `where' output. I can make the
coredump available, and/or perform particular debugging commands, but I
will be updating the emacs installation on this machine very soon (I
will save the binary, but the supporting elisp, etc. will be updated).
