Yes, I said that I tried it:

I also said (in two mails) that I have only Emacs 20, so my suggestion might
no longer be pertinent:

If Emacs 21 already satisfies this need, great.

Did you actually try C-h a paste RET ?

(clue: apropos already knows that paste is synonymous with yank)
