    While we are electrifying, I want to point out the complete lack of
    an "LF" key on almost all of today's keyboards.  I think that in most
    modes, people would prefer to have RET bound to newline-and-indent
    instead of newline.

It would be good for these "electric" minor modes to operate by
remapping the command rather than by rebinding a specific key.
We could make this change in various modes as we get to them.
