Yes

Because the Emacs Gnus and the `Gnus Gnus' have not been kept in sync well
[there's been some occasional merging of changes, but if anything it's made
the situation worse, because as far as I can see it's only been done
haphazardly, and it's muddied the waters].

One of the big annoyances is the many `trivial changes' that have been done
to the emacs tree, e.g. whitespace tweaks, spelling fixes, etc., which tend
to hide real bugfixes merely by their huge quantity.

I will do that if I must, but I'd like to see if I can do things properly
first.  I still have some hope I can sort things out.

Ha, ha, I wish arch was magic like that ... :-)

Hopefully arch will make things easier in the future, but...  [I have been
careful to create the new Gnus arch tree in a way that it knows which files
correspond to each other in Emacs and Gnus.]
