grep output fontifications are nice, but they screw up kill/yank:
the fontified region's boundaries are yanked with Esc chars:
"Here is a matrix of [01;41mmmap[00m possibilities:"
note that "mmap" is prefixed with "Esc [ 0 1 ; 4 1 m" and terminated
with "Esc [ 0 0 m"
