** skip-chars-forward and skip-chars-backward now handle
character classes such as [:alpha:], along with individual characters
and ranges.
The Elisp Manual still has the following sentence:
Note that char classes are not currently supported in
CHARACTER-SET; they will be treated as literals. Thus you cannot
use `"[:alpha:]"' instead of `"a-zA-Z"' to include non-ASCII
letters. A way to skip forward over all letters is:
(re-search-forward "\\=[[:alpha:]]*" nil t)
This seems to be obsolete now.
