emacs failed to start, with error:"Wrong type argument: listp, 233729312"

I created a fontset just as the Manual said:
Emacs.Fontset-0: -*-fixed-medium-r-normal-*-24-*-*-*-*-*-fontset-24,\
            chinese-gb2312:-*-*-medium-r-normal-*-24-*-gb2312*-*
Emacs.Font: fontset-24

Then I start emacs22 (emacs-unicode-2 cvs20050126), and I just get the 
error:
"Wrong type argument: listp, 233729312"
This error occured since cvs200412** or so, I'm no idea about the older 
versions, for I didn't test it.
I'm just wanting to custom the font for Chinese text display.

Any help?

Ubuntu hoary
emacs22 build against libgtk2.6.2
