   Start a fresh Emacs:

      % ./src/emacs --no-init-file --no-site-file

   Now press e.g. "C-x r w" (`window-configuration-to-register')
*slowly*, i.e. with more than `echo-keystrokes' seconds of pause
   between the key presses.

Instead of the expected prompt "Window configuration to register: "
   you'll see "C-x r w-".

Yes, I see the same using

today's GNU Emacs CVS snapshot, Mon, 2005 Aug 15 11:04 UTC
GNU Emacs 22.0.50.71 (i686-pc-linux-gnu, GTK+ Version 2.6.8)
started with

     /usr/local/src/emacs/src/emacs -Q -D
