I do want to distribute the package separately, but I am not
interested in Emacs 20 compatibility.

I am interested in Emacs 21 compatibility, because it is what I now
use, and I am interested in XEmacs compatibility because the package
was written for and is still distributed by XEmacs.  Obviously, I also
care about the package working in the latest Emacs.
