And while following this route they violated one of the most basic
premises of "UI for naive users" design:

        At no point, user should be left stuck, without hint about
        features available.

The point is not that file selector was "dumbed down". The point is that
it was made completely unintuitive (to the degree of being unusable) for
the "naive user" (which means "MS Windows user" nowadays).
