Normally SPACE means yes and RET means no, except while using

This is highly confusing my proper reflexes while editing.

Could you change it to SPACE meaning yes and RET meaning no,
consistent with the rest of the interface?

You are asking to kill some buffer, so the question is not _whether_ you
want to kill a buffer but _which_ one. This is not a yes or no question.

You see:

Kill buffer (default *scratch*):

So RET means to accept the default, as it usually does.

Moreover the name of some buffers you may want to kill may start with
a space.

So the change you are suggesting would be _very_ confusing and inconsistent.

Use C-g if you change your mind about killing a buffer, as you would
if you change your mind about any similar command.

Sincerely,

Luc.
