I agree it is suspicious.  On the other hand, it occurs to me that
maybe it is not a bug--maybe this is how defstruct accessor macros
are implemented.  Could that be it?

If so, then (1) that needs to be documented, and (2) maybe the
function needs to be moved to subr.el.
