FWIW, I saw the following message when building with the current
sources (some minor local changes) today on 64bit ...

,----
| Dumping under names emacs and emacs-22.0.50.1
| emacs:0:Pure Lisp storage overflow (approx. 2155304 bytes needed)
| 5504 pure bytes used
|
| "GNU Emacs 22.0.50.1 (x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu, GTK+ Version 2.4.9)
| of 2006-04-20 on bridgekeeper"
|
| system-configuration-options
| "'--prefix=/import/xtra/emacs/HEAD' '--with-gtk'
'--exec-prefix=/import/xtra/emacs/HEAD-x86_64'"
`----

... and last Tuesday on 32bit:

,----
| Dumping under names emacs and emacs-22.0.50.4
| emacs:0:Pure Lisp storage overflow (approx. 1342376 bytes needed)
| 2832 pure bytes used
| [...]
|
| GNU Emacs 22.0.50.4 (i686-pc-linux-gnu, GTK+ Version 2.4.9) of
| 2006-04-18 on rabbit
|
| system-configuration-options:
| "'--prefix=/import/xtra/emacs/HEAD' '--with-gtk'
'--exec-prefix=/import/xtra/emacs/HEAD-i686'"
`----

With today's sources, I get "75244 pure bytes used" on 32bit (same
options).

Bye, Reiner.
