It builds fine for me:
In GNU Emacs 22.0.90.1 (x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu, X toolkit)
 of 2006-10-27 on chlr6708
SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server 9 (x86_64)
VERSION = 9
PATCHLEVEL = 3

FYI, I had to recompile the ancillary package emacs-w3m and its
associated APEL and FLIM libraries due to the the emacs numerical
incremention, e.g.:

Old: <installation path>/share/emacs/22.0.50/site-lisp/emu/
New: <installation path>/share/emacs/22.0.90/site-lisp/emu/
