Ah, someday I should learn to actually _read_ mails...  ;-)
sorry.

I don't use XEmacs, but I guess it shouldn't be to hard to write
something equivalent.  Would 

(string= "OK" (subseq ( ... ) 0 2))

work for XEmacs?
