That's a bit of second-guessing. We are not in the business of knowing why someone uses non-default file names. And let's not forget that a file with a .c extension containing a GIF image is absolutely, non-ambiguously a GIF, whatever the .c may seem to imply. I'm just saying that extension and contents are two ways to determine what a file is intended to be; but both aren't equally significant. /L/e/k/t/u
