Aside: that shouldn't cause compatibility problems, because
`process-lines' wasn't in subr.el until 2007-11-19; I don't think
there were many users of `process-line' from admin/admin.el or of
`authors-process-lines' in emacs-lisp/authors.el. But I could be
wrong...
