I've edited the current CVS etc/TODO file and made it org friendly:

Open this file in Emacs with a recent version of Org (say >5.00), and
activate the column view with C-c C-x C-c.  It will display something
like a table (via overlays) showing metadata attached to each item.

You can see these columns: status, importance, owner, version, system,
milestone, and file.  Org-mode lets you select items depending on tags,
keywords, properties, etc., so that it's easy to quickly review query
through this, as you would do through a web-based bug tracker.

I just spent 10 minutes editing this TODO file, just to give a flavor of
what can be done with org-mode.  Of course, the information we want to
handle depends on the conventions we use as a collective workflow.

Even if we don't draw any automatic bridge between the mailing list and
such an Org file, I think it's worth enhancing the current TODO file...
