I've been wanting that for ages.
Place the line

gtk-key-theme-name = "Emacs"

into the file ~/.gtkrc-2.0 and that's basically it.  For all GTK+
applications, not just firefox.

Not guaranteed to work.  I think Gtk+ don't read ~/.gtkrc-2.0 if there
is a gconf daemon running.

In which case setting desktop/gnome/applications/interface/gtk_key_theme
to Emacs with gconf-editor should do the trick.


On my install, that is desktop/gnome/interface/gtk_key_theme. I guess it can not hurt to set it in both places (and ~/.gtkrc-2.0).
