Hello, I just built a fresh trunk checkout on my WinXP machine. The binaries seem to work fine (though the annoying coding system warning is still present). I used --enable-font-backend during the configure step. However, those binaries crashes immediately under Windows Vista. You can do emacs --version and emacs -help, the expected output is displayed. However, emacs -Q crashes immediately (and without -Q).

Under cygwin (on my vista machine), I tried:
$ strace emacs -Q
just to see what strace would say:
--- Process 3660, exception C00000005 at 77DF986B

was the only output.
