Not necessarily disagreeing, but just noting that pc-selection mode
already sets mark-active to "pc-select" to allow it to coexist with
tmm-style highlighting by C-SPC - pc-selection only deactivates "its
own" mark activations on cursor move.   Thus, people can use C-SPC
plus cursor keys even when pc-selection-mode is active, it is only if
they use shift-cursor keys to activate the mark will it be deactivated
on cursor move.

This is (or was) considered a feature I think!

Given apparent concern over mouse then keyboard interaction, maybe
pc-selection-mode needs to also deactivate the mark when cursor moves
after the _mouse_ has set the region...
