Sigh.  People who don't use transient-mark-mode but need an active
region sometimes.

When you are done sneering at people who use different features than
you, just ring.

I use it and consider it valuable: there is no way short of the annoying
permanent tmm to make an active region, and active regions are necessary
for some commands.
