How much work would be needed to make the Carbon code on the trunk
work well? IIUC it only suffers from 1 problem which is the timely
handling of input. It looks like a fairly small problem: maybe not easy
to fix, but if someone who knows the code were to take it seriously, it
should not require much work. That would be very welcome and we could
then keep the Carbon port (probably complemented by your AppKit changes)
for Emacs-23.
