poor font choice

Here is a problem that existed before with the "old" font-backend, but
still exists (tho the specific poor font chosen happens to be
different):

I have some mostly ascii text with one ellipsis char. The ascii text is
shown in

  -misc-fixed-medium-r-semicondensed--13-120-75-75-c-60-iso8859-1

while the ellipsis (#x2026) uses

  -MUTT-ClearlyU-normal-normal-normal-*-17-*-*-*-*-*-iso10646-1

The fact is the misc-fixed font also provides the ellipsis char, so
there's no reason to resort to something else like ClearlyU.

The problem is probably due to the fact that the font used for the ascii
text is ...-iso8859-1 rather than ...-iso10646-1, but that's no excuse
for preferring -MUTT-ClearlyU-normal-normal-normal-*-17-*-*-*-*-*-iso10646-1
over -misc-fixed-medium-r-semicondensed--13-120-75-75-c-60-iso10646-1
