I think "thread 1" is what you want.  But if it doesn't produce a
useful backtrace, try others (except 2, which you already saw is in
the Cygwin signal handler) until you see something familiar.

If I have followed the right procedure... this is the result:

For the sake of completeness, in thread 4 we find 'bss_sbrk_buffer' which is defined in src/sheap.c as

char bss_sbrk_buffer[STATIC_HEAP_SIZE];

Trying STATIC_HEAP_SIZE = 25MB does not solve and, sincerely, I do not think here is the culprit.
