That's an argument for making the DPI user-settable/tweakable and/or
with default adjustments based on display type.

It does't seem related to fixing DPI at 96 dpi though.

[My impression was that Gnome was just copying the identical MS fuckup,
which _does_ seem to have been a technical one...]
