No, that's orthogonal - might be good or bad, but not the solution for this.

A user might well like the new colors in general but prefer one of the old
colors. But what was it? This is not about choosing between two themes (neither
of which might be appropriate).

Please let's not complicate the issue (now it becomes a discussion about
including theme code...). Just publish the old colors and the corresponding new
ones. If you do that, it really doesn't matter much what colors you use.

It is important to list changes in any default values/behavior at each release,
stating clearly what the old was and the new is in each case. That is normal
behavior.
