The argument was that they are "of little use".  I wanted to say that
I use them a lot.  If someone wants more than 2 opposite opinions,
let's have a poll.  Otherwise, let's stop wasting energy on such petty
issues.  We've been rearranging the menus time and again, since Emacs
21.1, and there's always someone else to come and say the menus are
not useful.

I only know we put them there in Emacs 22.  At that time, there was a
consensus that this is a good thing.  Maybe we should let them be
there for a few more version before we decide that we were all on
drugs back then.
