dVCS, in essence, consists on the idea that you can pull changes from
any developer that published his branch, and any other user can get
changes from your published branches. Here, "upstream" is just an
agreement among developers. That's the only thing that makes the
branches on the GNU server special. This has profound implications on
all aspects of development.
That may be very interesting for some, but I am going to try not to
have to think about it.
