BTW, are you sure you want to be using `word-start'/`word-end'?
Do you modify the syntax table to give "_" word syntax?
For most programming language modes, it's much better to use
`symbol-start'/`symbol-end' for keywords, and leave "_" with its default
symbol syntax. ["Better" as in you won't drive your users insane...]
