Error in Bazaar

I see the following error in bzr

    $ bzr update
    bzr: ERROR: No WorkingTree exists for 
"file:///usr/local/src/emacs/trunk/.bzr/checkout/".

This used to work.  `/usr/local/src/emacs/trunk/.bzr/checkout/' exists but
there is nothing in it.
Emacs 24.0.50.116 (i686-pc-linux-gnu, GTK+ Version 2.20.1)

I am old; this may be something I caused.  I can no longer remember the
name of the log file that might help.
