I agree, it's a nuisance.  I suspect, however, that the long-term
nuisance of having (possibly conflicting) passwords stored in two
different places will be bigger for users in general.

It isn't obvious to me which is the better way to do this, so if more
people could give their opinions on this, I'll implement whatever the
consensus is.  :-)
