I ran Emacs compiled as you did, with evil-mode enabled for three hours and did 
not get any errors.
However, I checked in some fixes, please try that variant.

A question, you configure with this:

CFLAGS='-O0 -ggdb -g3' CC='gcc -arch i386' ./configure --with-ns
  --without-gnutls --enable-asserts

If you are on Lion, you must have a 64-bit CPU, so why are you limiting 
yourself to 32 bits?
