I didn't want to assume it was OK and I'm not experienced at merging
commits between Bazaar branches.  If the answer is "yes" and "just do
it" OK, but I'm being cautious with the release so close.

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean.  Is there an example I should
follow?  I copied the auth.texi rules, assuming those were OK.
