Because for the native build, that's not an option: you cannot NOT use
it.

The configure script already does, and it sets LN_S to "cp -p" as
result.  Which is fine everywhere, except when installing Emacs, where
I prefer a hard link, which wastes less disk space.

We could, but I'd like more time to pass to see whether this is needed
and how best to generate that (e.g., Sed or Patch).
