Fails to build (with or without Eli's changes) on RHEL6 using

configure --without-xaw3d --without-gconf --without-gsettings \
   --without-xim --with-x --with-x-toolkit=athena \
   --without-toolkit-scroll-bars

  Does Emacs use -lrsvg-2?                                yes
  Does Emacs use -lgconf?                                 no
  Does Emacs use GSettings?                               no
  Does Emacs use a file notification library?             yes -lgio (gfile)

rpm -q glib2
glib2-2.22.5-7.el6.x86_64
