I have checked the file history in GNU Octave and besides the original import 
from Kurt Hornik it only seems to contain minor changes from

* John W. Eaton (has signed the fsf papers for Emacs)
* Rik <address@hidden>
* Rafael Laboissiere  <address@hidden>
